Rig Driver - Nationwide

We are looking for an experienced Rig Driver for a position covering areas including Scotland, Derby, Eastbourne and London.

Our client is one of the UK’s leading driven steel sheet piling contractors who specialise in all aspects of driven sheet piling including permanent sheet pile basements, all forms of temporary sheet piling works and sheet pile installation.

This challenging and exciting opportunity requires an individual with a hard working ethic and demonstrable experience in the use and operations of piling rigs. You will be joining an enthusiastic, dedicated and hardworking team of staff delivering piling / ground engineering services to a wide ranging client based across the UK.

Qualifications

  • CPCS above and below 15 tonnes - essential
  • Welder - preferred
  • Signaller - preferred
  • Crane Supervisor - preferred
  • SSSTS/SMSTS – preferred

The Role

  • Comply to all company and site specific HSEQ policies at all times
  • Responsible for driving / operating a wide variety of piling rigs
  • Working as part of a team on site successfully carry out all assigned duties to deliver projects safely and timely, whilst maintaining high quality standards
  • Produce site records including, but not limited to; daily piling logs, pre-start rig checks, risk assessments and general reports / paperwork

The Person

  • A demonstrable understanding of various project based piling techniques, with the ability to use and operate driven piling rigs
  • Reading and understanding of site / project specifications and layouts
  • Relevant and valid piling rig operator – driver tickets / certifications
  • A good understanding of adopting varied techniques pertaining to differing ground / site conditions
  • A full awareness of project specifications and other contract documents
  • An ability to produce reports that are easily digested based on gathering technical information from site
  • Highly organised and effective, with the ability to plan and schedule your own workload with the minimum of supervision
