Maintenance Manager - Surrey

We are currently working exclusively with a market leader within the food industry who is looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager.

If you are an enthusiastic and passionate Maintenance Manager and looking for a forward thinking company this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. The ideal candidate must have both an Electrical and Mechanical background and demonstrable people management experience. As part of this role you will be required to work Days – Working Monday to Friday – 7.30am to 5.30pm

Purpose of Role:

The role will help the business to ensure all of our customer delivery expectations are met.

The successful candidate will; lead the Engineering Maintenance Team supporting the production facilities, using the Preventive Planned Maintenance program - ensuring the plant and machinery are maintained to their highest level, whilst maintaining full compliance with Health and safety requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Management of departmental legal compliance including legionellosis,
  • Pressure systems and statutory compliance
  • To implement the maintenance strategy that will ensure the Engineering function is effective, low cost, well-motivated and flexible
  • Working cross functionally with production to ensure maximum availability of assets
  • Develop and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule and procedures
  • Control and manage engineering stores and critical spares ensuring correct stock levels
  • Provide weekly and monthly labour plans ensuring full engineering cover
  • Identify replacement of plant, processes and systems as required by business objectives and plant condition. Preventive plans with accurate risk assessments on assets
  • Ensure an environment and culture of safe working practices are understood and maintained within the engineering maintenance function
  • To monitor progress of plant performance and implement downtime reduction activities.
  • Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner

Time is split approximately 60% supporting the Engineering Team and 40% management of system paperwork.

Qualifications and experience

  • Apprentice trained engineer, HND or Degree qualified.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Multi-skilled
  • Demonstrable people management experience
  • Proven maintenance system experience
  • Demonstrate legal compliance
  • Demonstrate project management experience

Key Maintenance KPI’s

  • Health & Safety – Statutory and mandatory measure and adherence
  • Cost – Management of agreed maintenance budget and forecast of spend
  • Service – Achieving compliance PPM schedules and assets are maintained to perform to business expectations
  • People – Ensuring skill levels are maintained for engineering personnel and a culture continuous improvement is embedded. Consistent communication with engineering and production teams
  • Quality – Provide a reliable and effective service to manufacturing. GMP standards are maintained, constantly developed
  • Completed the acquisition of greater production capacity
  • Progressing the next generation of value added products in the retail and food service category
  • Driving an ambitious category led growth agenda
  • Developing an innovative branded offer to fulfil rapidly developing consumer needs
