Electrical Maintenance Engineers - Gosport

I am currently looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join my client based in Gosport, Hampshire on a flexible Monday to Friday days pattern

Experience from an FMCG / Manufacturing or Automation background is preferred.

 Roles and Responsibilities

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will ensure that all the equipment operates at its optimum; providing an electrical maintenance service whilst continually improving the efficiency and the effectiveness of facilities and manufacturing equipment to achieve key targets/objectives.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to:-

  • Investigate and repair electrical breakdowns and malfunctions on any production or plant equipment and diagnose the causes of a wide range of malfunctions.
  • Carry out planned maintenance on all site electrical equipment and maintain and update all maintenance documentation.
  • Assist technical staff with development work and carry out project work on new equipment and plant.
  • Complete shift logs / reports and undertake the writing and updating of risk assessments and SOP’s

Skills Required

  • A time served electrical apprenticeship, qualified to ONC/ HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • 17th Edition and City & Guilds 2391 Testing and Inspection Course
  • Isolation and lock off training
  • Proven experience of working in an FMCG / High volume production environment and experience of plant services
  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs or equivalent (inc Maths & English) at Grade C or above
  • Competency in diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience with DC and AC motors is desirable

You will be a flexible team player with a proactive and analytical approach. With a strong focus and drive, you will have strong communication & organisation skills with the ability to work under own initiative. You will also be willing to work additional shifts when required.

Candidates may undertake an assessment in technical understanding, Health & Safety and literacy & numeracy.
