HGV Mechanic/Technician

Our client is a Manchester based firm who deal with construction plant & machinery hire. They’re extremely established & successful and due to an ever-growing fleet, they require an additional HGV Mechanic to join their team!

We’re looking for a Qualified/Time-served HGV Mechanic to join the team at the Trafford Park based service yard.

You must have relevant Mechanical Qualifications up to Level 3 such as City & Guilds or NVQs.

Alternatively you will have significant industry experience & be time-served in a similar role.

You’ll ideally possess a CLASS 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) License.

The role of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection/service routines, repairs & testing of vehicles in a professional and safe manner.

You will report to the Fleet Manager/ Depot Manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to current manufacturer’s standards.

You will be responsible for planning work, managing diagnostics and ordering parts effectively whilst being able to carry out all repairs to the highest standards and with the most effective use of time; you must have knowledge of modern diagnostic systems.

We’re looking for a team player who will be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines. You must be able to adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role with a can-do attitude to ensure the provision of outstanding customer service & high levels of work are carried out right, first time.

Start Date: Interviews Available Immediately

Duration: Temp to Perm contract

Salary: Negotiable, DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am – 5.30pm

Saturday requirement tbc
