Painter & Decorator

Job Purpose:

To undertake planned preventative Painting & Decorating maintenance, responding to reactive and project type works. To report in to the P&D Supervisor and undertake proactive regime of painting and decoration which will consistently maintain and present a high level of decoration across our clients portfolio and to its customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • Assessment and preparation of areas prior to completing painting or decoration
  • Complete painting and decorating PPM tasks to the building fabric inclusive of roller and brush techniques for interiors and exteriors.
  • Fitting and hanging contract width wall coverings and decorative finishes, patch repairs and/or filling of minor defects to wood and masonry.
  • Wood work decoration e.g. skirting boards & door frames
  • Assist with creating annual PPM painting schedule & implementation
  • Manage stock control and ordering Reactive Maintenance and Project Works
  • Deliver and complete appropriate, reactive maintenance and projects as required within the portfolio.
  • Estimating and undertaking reactive and project decoration works.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to reactive maintenance tasks.

Customer Service

  • Build strong, professional relationships with our customers and suppliers.
  • Handle and respond to all requests for assistance, enquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Use and update the Maintenance Management System (Concept).
  • Ensure effective communication with the relevant building team in advance of planned work taking place.

Essential

  • Level 3 Certificate in Painting and Decorating (C&G 6707-33)
  • Experience in managing own workload.
  • Experience in patch plaster repairs, wood work treatment and tower scaffolding works.
  • PASMA Qualification
  • Experience of working in a maintenance (PPM and or Reactive) environment
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships and work well in a team
  • High standards with a thorough approach and attention to detail.
  • A hands-on, can-do attitude and a positive, motivated disposition
  • A high degree of customer focus and dedication to high standards of customer service
