This is a permanent, full time role.

 

Summary of Role:

The (Local Authority and Education Sector) Projects Manager role is a new role which is intended to provide a central point of contact and management to:


1. Collate, monitor and manage a Sector Projects Tracker for all project works within the sector covering pipeline, procurement, operational status, commercial status of all projects (STFC, 5C, all Education Project and, in time, LCC)
2. Collate all Business Cases and Task Orders for Project and Life Cycle Works
3. Work closely with the sector Procurement Manager to monitor and plan all procurement activity for project works (in terms of timely procurement and batching of projects to ensure better buying).
4. Lead Pre-Start Meetings for all major projects and use this meeting as a forum to hand over the day to day running of the project to the on site (local) project management team.
5. Carry out on site 'spot check' audits of project works being undertaken from a HSEQ perspective.
6. Be a central point to manage any technical queries with VINCI specialist technical support teams.
7. Be part of the approval process for all invoices for project works to validate payment and ensure the relevant project documentation is received prior to payment being made (e.g. O&Ms, Warranties, Independent Certification of Works where applicable).
8. Be an additional focal point for the sector to help drive growth of project works through additional client liaison with existing clients.
9. Work closely with the Asset Management team to monitor pipeline of life cycle works and life cycle plans.
10. Provide additional support to projects in compiling the annual life cycle reports to better manage the completion of these and reduce the risk to VINCI of omissions being made
11. Provide an additional resource within the sector to provide ad hoc support to projects if workload allows and where the need dictates.

REPORTING LINE - The role will report direct to the Operations Director for the Local Authority and Education Sector The role will, however, liaise strongly with the Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Sector Procurement Manager, the Asset Management Team, the Technical Support Team, and Building Solutions.

LOCATION - National - the role covers the whole sector and so it will involve travel. Office location to be discussed with the successful candidate

 

Qualifications: SMSTS, IOSH or similar desired

Professional Membership: MCIOB, MRICS or similar desired

Relevant Experience: Minimum of 5 years managing project works desired
