An exciting opportunity has arisen with a world leading company for an Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer based in Bishops Stortford

Multi Skilled Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer – Automated, Electrical, FMCG, Warehouse, Food Industry

£42,000 per annum, over time, training & development.

This is a day shift only role 4 on 4 off.

Experience will be considered from any automated or fast moving industry. If you are electrically biased and of a positive mind set with built in flexibility / adaptability then I would like to hear from you.

Experience in the Food Industry and Robotics is desirable but not essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To provide a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to its optimum performance and that all departmental SLA’s and KPI’s are met.

Offer Technical advice and leadership.

Prioritisation of workload

To ensure that work is carried out to the highest standard and complies with all the companies polices and guidelines, specifically Health & Safety policies/guidelines.

To maximise availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement and improve equipment efficiencies/cost reductions through Kaizens and other initiatives.

To carry out modifications and installations when required.

 To liaise with contractors or external suppliers and clearly communicate technical issues and company standards.

To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).     

To provide technical support/input to projects and initiatives.

To carry out ad-Hoc requests as and when required.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

City & Guilds,ONC,OND, HNC,HND,DEGREE

Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines

Ability to interrogate a PLC

Proven Leadership track record and skills

Basic workshop skills

Able to fault find and rectify

Experience of planned preventative maintenance

Good communications skills at all levels. Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal).

Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations

Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Willingness to train and learn new skills.

Must have flexibility in working hours and shift patterns to provide cover for operational requirements.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • BTEC, City & Guilds or equivalent in electrical engineering
  • Foundation Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent
  • Able to plan and prioritise balancing day to day production needs with the longer term objectives of the department
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility with or without guidance
  • Consistently sets standards of operation and encourages teamwork and feedback
  • Understands the demands of the team supporting as appropriate
  • Demonstrates a good standard of written and verbal communication in all areas
  • Understands and demonstrates the need for excellence in customer service both internal and external
  • Consistently applies H&S, hygiene and quality – standards, focus and compliance
  • Through the consistent application of tools, delivers effective cost management
  • Competency with 3ph / 1pm motor control is essential
  • Experience & knowledge of pneumatics, refrigeration & factory services is desirable
