The company you’re required to supplement provides and delivers development opportunities to its parent company. Their head office is based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and the successful candidate will be covering projects in Birmingham & surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Operations Director; you will be in charge of numerous high profile PRS schemes; responsible for all construction duties whilst ensuring compliance to all company policies. This client has a growing sustainable pipeline of schemes that requires an energetic professional who is keen to assist in the company growth and deliver this product to exceptional standards.

You will manage schemes from inception to completion and work closely with the Commercial Manager to ensure all schemes are delivered safely, on time, within budget, to exceptional levels of quality and to specification.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES…

  • Communicate effectively to, and establish strong, cooperative working relationships with; board members, internal team members, external contractors, consultants and supply chain companies
  • Set and strive to achieve rigorous Health & Safety standards along with exceptional levels of quality
  • Ensure an effective per-commencement process with regularly monitored dates and actions
  • Ensure planning is achieved timely, ensure specifications are clear and not compromised, ensure accurate & deliverable scheme budgets and minimise business risk at all times
  • Ensure effective site start dates and all schemes are completed on time
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement across all schemes
  • Establish a consistent product, based on deliverability and efficiency
  • Encourage the open sharing of ideas across all schemes to establish our optimised product delivery methods/specification
  • Work with all key supply chain members to identify operational and financial benefits from available pipelines
  • Work with contractors to ensure these potential benefits are embraced and realised
  • Review Modern Methods of Construction to ensure our product is constantly evolving
  • To ensure the full and proper implementation of the Company’s procedures
  • Ensure that a high personal standard of professionalism is evident to all external stakeholders
  • Any other duties relevant to the role.

 

ABOUT YOU – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Strong technical knowledge of the construction industry & build processes.
  • Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and knowledge of construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of; Standard forms of contract, Principles of contract law, construction industry legislation, etc.
  • Good knowledge of RA/MS, general H&S processes, H&S issues & legislation,
  • Ideally: Degree qualified/HND equivalent, in a Construction/Management related subject
  • Holding additional professional membership ie. CIOB, RICS, ICE, RIBA, is desirable
  • Extensive experience of working on live projects, pre/post contract (ideally some on  PRS Schemes)
  • Good team working skills along with self-motivation & ability to work on own initiative,
  • Ability to manage and drive a team of external stakeholders towards a common goal;
  • Be comfortable questioning design proposals and offering alternatives;
  • Understanding of risk in the construction process;
  • Excellent Communication, Interpersonal & Negotiation Skills
  • Experience of D&B Contracts; Experience of procuring contracts; Exposure to resolving disputes;
  • Able to build long term relationships;
  • Proficient in the use of MS packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;

 

- At least 2 checkable work references will need to be provided if you are successful.

- Hold a Full UK Driving License - Essential!

- Be willing to travel anywhere in the UK, if/when required
