Assistant Buyer (Residential Construction)

By using their wealth of knowledge & experience, this client delivers high quality, affordable homes, to a wide spectrum of clients under a range of contract models across the North West, Yorkshire & East Midlands. This client has strong company values and wants to invest in an Assistant Buyer who has the same passion & work ethic.

Due to consistent & continuous growth, they want to invest in a dynamic & charismatic Assistant Buyer with a positive can do attitude to join their North West team. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong business acumen combined with the creativity & vision to meet the needs of the business. You need to be reliable & committed with a keen eye for detail and proven experience in a similar construction related position.

Working out of their North West offices, in Ellesmere Port - Reporting to a Senior Buyer, you will be working as part of a successful commercial team. Covering all aspects of the role & being part of a variety of exciting residential projects, you will be supported from the get go while actively learning the job role; developing your skills & experience. You also need to be willing to attend training & PD courses to develop relevant knowledge & skills.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Past experience in a similar role – Construction Industry experience is ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience with New Build Social Housing projects – ESSENTIAL
  • Experience with New Build Spec Housing projects – Beneficial, however not essential
  • Experience working with varied Residential New Build projects – Highly Advantageous

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience being involved in buying for the above mentioned project types.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Have the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel confidently & professionally.
  • Computer Literacy with proficiency in the use of MS Office - Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Ability to prioritise and work flexibly to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines along with the ability to use initiative and problem solve.
  • Ability to objectively evaluate & assess a situation before deciding on the appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with sensitive or confidential information
  • An excellent team player, showing flexibility and a responsive attitude to team/individual tasks.
