Buyer - Heathrow

Buyer - Construction - SW London 

Minstrell Recruitment Ltd are working on behalf of a large construction company based in SW London to source a Buyer to work for them full time. Our client is a large construction sub-contractor who operate up and down the UK. Their HQ is based near Heathrow and that's where you would be based day to day. 

The company are continuing to grow year on year and to date are turning over circa £100 million. 

Key duties will include but not be limited to the following items:

• Providing prices for plant and materials included in project plans and drawings;
• Identifying potential suppliers, new products and maintaining the product database,
• Contacting a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times;
• Keeping detailed records of both Plant, Labour and Materials, together with maintaining a well-organised work schedule;
• Assessing the reliability of sub-contractors and suppliers;
• Dealing effectively with site staff and the challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials;
• Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services;
• Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided;
• Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured.
• Liaising with the accounts department to resolve invoice queries.
