Project Manager - North West

CLIENT/ROLE

My client, due to years of dedication & success, are an extremely reputable industry leader, dealing with projects across various sectors; offering a full ‘one-stop shop’ experience across D&B, Construction, Refurbishments and Asset Management services.

Now looking to invest in an additional Project Manager to cover projects in the North West Region, based out of their Salford offices.

The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of exceeding targets and achieving high scores/a clean record in H&S, environmental management and fault free construction. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager; you’ll be involved in managing and supporting the complete construction process of projects between £5m – £50m+, on time and on budget; must have proven experience delivering projects in excess of £50million.

ROLE/DUTIES – not an exhaustive list

• Manage the day to day working of the project
• Support the site team in making decisions & provide direction that suits the project targets in terms of safety, programme and commercial control
• Contributing to regular team meetings
• Preparing/Issuing Project Management Plans, including regular reviews and revisions as necessary.
• Maintain contact with the client’s team, producing/presenting regular reports to support a Snr PM
• Formulating and agreeing target programmes and short / medium term trade programmes
• Managing the Programme and monitoring costs
• Managing the preliminaries budget
• Leading, coordinating and motivating the site team, in liaison with the SM, and supply chain in achieving a collaborative team approach to deliver the project
• Setting up quality procedures and ensuring these are implemented.
• Establishing project industrial relations that reflect the company procedures.
• Ensuring competence of subcontractors in compliance with CSCS and Build UK requirements, prior to appointment.
• Ensuring the implementation & managing of; site H&S, security and fire policies along with environmental procedures
• Formulating and overseeing implementation of risk and opportunity management
• Managing the strategic aspects of the project, mitigating risks whilst overseeing / coordinating the delivery team
• Managing the project handover and ensuring a defect / snag free completion.

ABOUT YOU

• Valid CSCS card; ‘Black managers’ card preferred – Along with holding valid SMSTS qualification.
• Ideally: A degree qualification or equivalent along with CIOB affiliation or equivalent.
• Suitable experience in managing and overseeing project from inception to handover
• Technical experience & detailed knowledge of the construction process
• Ability to read/understand drawings and methodically plan the works safely and efficiently
• Confidence and proficiency in the use of IT packages and systems
• Good team working skills along with self-motivation & ability to work on own initiative
• Solid communication skills with confidence to communicate to all levels of personnel
