Architect

THE CLIENT

This client is an established main contractor, operating out of the Cheshire based Head Office & undertaking contracts/developments nationwide. Over the past 4 years their ability to deliver a project, as promised, on time & within, if not under, budget has resulted in some fantastic industry success and due to their rapid & continuous growth they now want to invest in an additional architect to join their team.

They specialise in New Build and Refurbishment projects; predominantly for Mixed Use, Residential, Commercial & Listed Building developments. The successful candidate will be experienced in dealing with a variety of project types and will be based out of their Congleton offices, covering North West projects.

THE ROLE

• Working on a variety of bids, predominantly within the Residential, Commercial & Industrial sectors
• Provide architectural support for planning submissions & detail design stages.
• Work closely with commercial and construction teams during the preconstruction stages to critically review new tenders for technical compliance, to improve buildability, identify risks and assist with differentiating the submission.
• Work in compliance with company policies and procedures for operational efficiency.
• Where necessary, develop scheme drawings using Revit & Sketch up, to demonstrate value engineering options and alternatives
• Provide guidance to project teams in all stages of the RIBA digital plan of work
• Assist in developing architecture documents, performance and functional specifications, design documents, and architectural solutions.
• Be conversant with BIM level II protocols

ABOUT YOU

• You will be professionally qualified and be registered with the ARB (Architects Registration Board).
• Holding Membership with RIBA – not essential, however highly advantageous.
• 5 years min project experience; ideally including aspects of PM, staff supervision & client interface.
• Demonstrable post qualification experience; preferably in high value commercial & residential sectors.
• Good & thorough knowledge of legislation, building regulations, codes and technical detailing.
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate IT proficiency in Revit 3D modelling and BIM applications.
• Good communication skills & ability to represent the employer at client/contractor engagements
• Self-motivated, resourceful and flexible

- As & when required, there will be a need to travel to various project locations across the region, so you must be willing to travel when required.
