Section Engineer - Liverpool

We are looking for an experienced Section Engineer for a position available in the Liverpool area

The role requires a graduate plus 3 - 5 years experience having preferably worked on concrete frames. The role requires the individual to have primary accountability for site engineering activities within the project team to high standard and in timely fashion. The role requires the supervision and mentoring of more junior engineers within the project team to enable them to develop into competent engineers.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Provide technical information and support to supervisors and managers, ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design data, i.e. drawings, specifications, standards.
• Take off and produce requisitions for materials to be delivered to site ensuring compliance with the standards and specifications.
• Ensures that the testing is carried out for materials, products, plant and systems, supervising testing and that this is carried out safely and to ensure correct materials, products, plant and systems are used / installed in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer’s specifications
• Produce and get approved method statements, risk assessments, task sheets, etc. to enable safe systems of work to be implemented, review methods with a view to making improvements.
• Work in accordance with the Management of Temporary Works Procedure and be able to supervise temporary works schemes of various complexities.
• Ensures that up-to-date construction information is distributed to all relevant parties and used at all times
• Ensure that relevant as-built information is collected and collated, including CVI’s, RFI’s, TQ’s, etc
• Ensures that NCR forms are raised for all non conformances and be instrumental in the timely close out of NCR’s

Ideally the candidate will have experience of concrete frames, precast concrete construction, concrete core construction and post-tensioned slab construction.

Candidate should have a minimum qualification of HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering and ideally be a member of the ICE or working towards professional membership.
