Estimator/ Cost Planner

This award winning client has been operating in the UK for the past four decades; during this time they have been immensely successful in their chosen fields of expertise. Evolving from just a roofing contractor to one of the UK Market leaders in full building envelope services offered across a diverse range of sectors.

Over the past couple of years, this client has delivered a number of prestigious & high profile projects for some of the UK’s leading main contractors/developers. These include a variety of stadium projects, hospital developments and some of the UK’s largest controlled environment distribution/logistics facilities.

Their Head Office is situated in South Manchester, with other operational offices in various locations across the UK and, due to their successes, in 2015 they branched out to the international markets, starting off in the UAE setting up their oversees HQ in Dubai.

They undertake an assorted range of projects from small upgrade packages on existing structures right up to multi-million pound, complex, new build projects; supporting their extremely valued customers during the whole process.

Due to their tremendous success to-date along with their consistent & continuing growth, they now want to supplement their Head Office team with an additional experienced Estimator who is able to demonstrate strong business acumen along with the drive & passion for excellence in their work.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Varied project sector experience required - Preferably in all or at least a number of the following areas; Healthcare, Controlled Environments, Energy/Waste, Education, Hotel/Leisure & Retail.
• Experience with projects/packages involving Cladding, Roofing, Glazing, Facades - Essential
• Varied ‘New Build’ experience along with D&B project experience – Essential
• Strong experience producing reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information.
• You will have experience working on projects ranging from £1million - £10million+ in value
• You’ll ideally be educated to Degree level or HND equivalent (in a relevant Construction/Engineering/Financial subject field)

EXPERIENCE/ ABOUT YOU

• Possess a full understanding of the construction process from inception, through design, construction to handover.
• Ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates, whilst, at times, working to strict deadlines
• Be able to analyse data, produce forecasts, perform risk analyses, prepare cost budgets/cost estimates etc.
• Identify/Quantify cost factors, such as production/installation time, materials, labour expenses etc.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors on bids/estimates.
• Excellent negotiation & communication skills along with confidence communicating to all levels of personnel.
