Quantity Surveyor - M&E


Constructing in the UK for nearly 150 years now; this client is a highly reputable and extremely successful industry leader in providing D&B, Construction, Refurbishment and Asset Management services.

Now looking to expand their North East team; they are looking to invest in an experienced M&E QS to join their workforce based in Leeds. You will be covering projects across Yorkshire & the North East and mainly covering Education, Health, Mixed-Use & Commercial developments.

The successful candidate will possess capabilities of managing pre/post contract aspects of M&E services surveying; working on either multiple smaller projects or a single large project.



Provide financial and commercial support including:

  • Compilation and placing of Subcontract Orders
  • The preparation and presentation of internal monthly financial reports & internal monthly cost forecasts
  • Submission and agreement of monthly Interim Applications
  • Preparation and submission of Cash Flow Forecasts
  • Agreement of Subcontract Interim Applications
  • Preparation, submission, agreement of variations and final accounts
  • Agreement of Subcontract Final Accounts
  • Ability to prepare, submit and agree loss and expense claims
  • Attending and post tender interviews and producing minutes
  • Following commercial procedures



  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role/ M&E Background
  • Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND equivalent in Quality Surveying OR working towards MRICS/ equivalent professional level
  • IT Literacy with Experience in using Microsoft packages – Predominantly Word & Excel
  • Good communication skills & ability to work within a team or as an individual with minimum supervision
  • Confidence communicating professionally to personnel of all levels
  • Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract, in particular NEC and JCT forms
  • A dynamic and driven individual who possesses good negotiation skills
  • Experience of working with or an understanding of BIM and computer aided measurement tools



  • Proven track record running & completing multiple M&E services packages on projects ranging from £2m- £20million
  • Preparing valuations, variations and final account
  • Managing Sub-contract accounts & procurement
  • Cost/Value forecast monitoring
  • Contract administration using various standard forms of contract
  • Producing, managing and forecasting material procurement on site
  • Working within company best practice procedures
  • Measuring and valuing works
