Minstrell Recruitment currently requires a Trainee Construction Worker for a position available in the Greater Manchester area
This position is for a Sector Based Work Academy delivered by The Airport Academy and Minstrell Training for permanent employment with either Laing O’Rourke or Galliford Try based on Manchester Airports new infrastructure works.
The training will provide the candidate with above and beyond the qualifications required to work on a construction site – the entry level will be Site Labourer however the Construction Client will decide at interview stage what the candidate will be best suited to do.
For example, the previous three candidates who have been employed following the course were offered Trainee Engineer, Site Labourer and Steel Fixer roles.
The candidates do not need any previous construction experience, just a willingness to learn new skills and the commitment to work.
Following the training candidates will be interviewed for a permanent position with one of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors.
The training will last 3 weeks and during this period, candidates will continue to receive their DWP benefits.
The training will include:
Level 1 Employability Skills Certificate (NCFE)
Which includes :CV Building, Team Working, Effective Time Management, Building sustained working relationships, Effective working mindset, Overcoming barriers of working in Construction sector (links to Mental Health Units)
Level 1 Customer Service Award (City and Guilds) (Construction Centric)
Which includes Managing Internal and External customer relationships, Effective Listening, Developing effect communication techniques for audience, Understanding different customers within a construction environment
Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
CSCS Card – this will allow them to work on any construction site throughout the UK for a period of 5 years
