Minstrell Training Division is flying high....

Dec 5th 2017 12:12pm

Minstrell Training Division is delighted to announce the successful completion of it's second Sector Based Work Academy in partnership with the Manchester Airport Academy.

Our role was to create an employable candidate to a competent level in Health and Safety awareness and to deliver a key skills competence programme in preparation for candidates being interviewed for a permanent role with one of the most prominent employers working on one of the UK’s key infrastructure projects, Laing O'Rourke.

This was a pilot scheme that has proven its worth and we hope to be involved in many more schemes over the next few years. All our attendees were previously on benefits, all lived within a five mile radius of Manchester Airport and all were actively seeking sustainable employment.

The candidates who were unsuccessful at interview stage with Laing O’Rourke were immediately registered with our Recruitment Arm of the business and will be offered temporary work with one of our many construction clients – we are able to provide an integrated service offer from screening, selection and training through to the placement of candidates onto other local construction/infrastructure projects.

There is a severe skills shortage within the construction sector and programmes such as this will not only assist in providing employers with competent staff but will also change the lives of people within our local communities through sustainable employment opportunities.
